Our Year in Review

Happy Holidays to all and I hope everyone has a great New Years!

January 4th, 2016 was the first official day of Fair Oaks Farms Fresh Delivery. Closing in our 1 year anniversary, it is a good time to reflect on our past year:

FOFFD started as an idea many many years ago. As dairy farmers we reflected on the role that the milkman had in our society and how that role diminished over the past couple decades. However, with the growing trend in home delivery and the consumers desire to understand where their food is coming from, bringing the milkman to Fair Oaks Farms was a no-brainer.

At our first ever meeting we laid out a mission to deliver fresh, wholesome, delicious, high-quality dairy products right to your door. Fair Oaks Farms has made this all possible with their vision for animal care, environmental friendliness and product quality. We purchased our van and reached out to our friends and families to come to our website, sign up and start receiving deliveries.

We started deliveries in May with one route and 12 Customers. To say it went off without a hitch would be a lie, but thanks to our patient customers and persistent work ethic we are now up to three routes and gaining new customers every day and looking to expand into the Indianapolis market at the beginning of the new year!

With just over 100 different options to choose from we have become one of the most diverse farm to home delivery services in the nation, how cool is that? We take pride in knowing our customers are satisfied. We have garnered a 100% 5 star rating on our Facebook page through the year and are up to almost 1000 likes! The feedback we have been recieving is amazing and makes our jobs that much more enjoybale.

9 out of 10 startup companies fail within the first year. We here at Fair Oaks Farms Fresh Delivery want to extend our deepest apprecation in helping us get to where we are now. Without your trust and apprecaition that we will deliver to you the great products that you and your family deserve, we wouldn't be where we are today, so thank you so very much.

As I sit here and read all of the wonderful kind words we have recieved over the year, it brings to mind this great quote from A.J. Cronin,

Gratitude is something of which none of us can give too much.

For on the smiles, the thanks we give, our little gestures

of appreciation, our neighbors build their philosphy of life.

Thank you for a wonderful year, and for the excitement of another to come,

Your Friendly Neighborhood Milkman

Monthly Updates

November was a great month for Fresh Delivery! Continued growth in our Crown Point market allowed us to expand that route further into St. John. Valparaiso has been ever so kind to us as well.

As it is getting darker earlier we have our drivers on the road at an earler window for the winter months. You can expect deliveries to be starting around 1pm.

We have added more flavors of our Ice Cream and Glazed Pecans to the menu and are looking to add pastries for the next month!

Monthly Updates
First off if you haven't heard or seen that the Fresh Produce Boxes are available, go check them out. We have heard your thoughts on what we should be changing about it and are working hard to change up the variety. We will let you know when that happens.
We are going to be adding St. John to the Crown Point route. If you know of anyone in the St. John area who might be interested in signing up please let them know. We love giving out surprises for customers that are spreading the word.
We have removed the $20 minimum and added a pyramid structure for the delivery charge. This means that orders that are less than $10 will have a $10 delivery charge, orders between $10 and $20 will have a $5 delivery charge and orders greater than $20 will have a $2 delivery charge.

This is the biggest one I wanted everyone to take note of.
For Halloween we are going to shift the DeMotte/Wheatfield route to Tuesday since there will be Trick-or-Treaters out and about during deliveries, but mainly because I will be one of those Trick-or-Treaters .
For Thanksgiving right now we are looking at shifting the Crown Point and Valparaiso back one day. So the week would go Monday - DeMotte/Wheatfield, Tuesday - Valparaiso, Wednesday - Crown Point/St. John. There will be more emails coming up to remind everyone.

I wanted to add this in this email because there are some questions I have been getting a lot and wanted to clear the air on any confusion.
- When is my delivery?
The deliveries right now are Monday for the DeMotte/Wheatfield area, Wednesday for the Valparaiso area, and Thursday for the Crown Point/St. John area
- How do I submit an order?
You don't really submit an order. Once you create an account you can fill up your shopping cart. Whatever is in your shopping cart at your cutoff time is locked in. The cutoff time is the day before your delivery at 11:30pm (except for the Fresh Produce Box, that is two days before).
I didn't receive something that was on my receipt, what do I do?

First off, sorry we couldn't complete your order. Some of our items are limited (butter and cheese curds) and we just don't know if we can fill the order till the day of the delivery. We do not bill you till a day or two after your delivery. This allows you to let us know if there was any errors with your order. We will refund you for any products not received and credit you for the inconvenience.
- What is the the deal with the coolers?
The reason we ask that you put a cooler on your front porch is that if you are not home during deliveries (3-8pm) it allows us to leave your products and head on to the next house. We do offer coolers for you to use for two free uses and then we will charge ($20) if you'd like to keep it. If you do have one of our coolers and want to return it please contact us and let us know to come get it.

September 28th, 2016

We are testing out fresh produce boxes. If you would like to try one please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. They will be free until we put them in the shop. Just email fof.milkman@gmail.com and let us know if you are interested.

Also, we have sold out of the 11.5oz Fairlife Chocolate Milk. It was in very high demand and we will be recieving more in the coming weeks.

September 8th, 2016

We are now serving Fair Oaks Farms Ice Cream! We have four flavors right now; chocolate, butter pecan, vanilla and strawberry. We will be carrying all of their flavors soon, we are getting a new peice of equipment soon which will allow us to pour all of our flavors. But for the time being it will be very limited.

Also, our Muenster took home 1st Place honors & our Smoked Gouda 2nd place at 2016 World Dairy Expo Cheese Contest. There were 1,130 entries this year!
